Russia Delivers Significant Arms Shipment to Central African Republic

On May 17, a Russian Air Force Il-76MD (registration RF-78797) landed at Bangui M’Poko International Airport in the Central African Republic, delivering 5,000 Kalashnikov assault rifles. This shipment, confirmed by Russian Ambassador Vladimir Titorenko, marks the third and largest arms delivery in three years, aimed at strengthening the CAR government’s efforts against militia groups. This significant influx of small arms underscores Russia’s continued commitment to bolstering its ally’s security and stability in the region.
