Russian Air Force Delivers Helicopters to Central African Republic

On May 21, local sources reported the arrival of a Russian Air Force An-124-100 in Bangui, Central African Republic, delivering two helicopters. The delivery included a multi-purpose Mi-8 helicopter and a Mi-24 attack helicopter, both returning from maintenance at Russia's Khmeimim Air Base in Syria. This strategic transfer highlights Russia's ongoing military support and influence in the Central African Republic, enhancing the nation’s operational capabilities.

According to local sources, on 21 May a Russian Air Force An-124-100 (possible registration RA-82039) was spotted in Bangui delivering two helicopters to the Central African Republic.

These included a multi-purpose Mi-8 helicopter as well as a Mi-24 attack helicopter returning from maintenance from the Khmeimim Air Base in Syria, currently operated by Russia.
